In 1978, Dr. Joseph Kriss received a Distinguished Alumni Award from Penn State. As a follow-up to this visit, Professor (and cousin) David Geselowitz wrote June 15, 1978: A curious thing happened today. As I was walking to work I heard loud noises in the distance. When I got to Highland Avenue I saw that they were tearing down your house [825 West Beaver]. If you had come to State College two weeks later it would have been gone.
